Asus Eee PC 1005PE provides 1 GB DDR-2 memory. This series allows you to upgrade the memory up to 2 GB to improve performance your netbook. And we will bring you to upgrade memory procedure in easy step by yourself.
You must beware of hardware compatibility before you select the memory type.
Asus Eee PC 1005PE is powered by Intel Atom Pine Trail Platform N450 processor that comes with 512 K cache memory, 1.66 GHz speed and 667 MHz FSB speed. So memory types are compatible this model included SO-DIMM DDR-2 PC2-5300 200-pin 667 MHz and SO-DIMM DDR-2 PC2-6400 200-pin 800 MHz. Asus Eee PC 1005PE memory is incompatible with lower FSB speed memory. The netbook has only one slot so you need to replace the new one, can not add another.
Asus Eee PC 1005PE features Super Hybrid Engine to improve battery lifespan. And you generally use Super High Performance Mode of Super Hybrid Engine, we recommend you to use SO-DIMM DDR-2 PC2-6400 200-pin 800 MHz memory to prevent the bottleneck effect. Because memory FSB speed will be higher processor FSB speed when use this mode. So memory clock rate of 800 MHz is more compatible than 667 MHz.

Asus Eee PC 1005PE is the first Pine Trail Netbook from Asus that comes with Atom N450 1.66 GHz processor. This series will be launched in January 2010. But we found some folks at Liliputing got Asus Eee PC 1005PE netbook to review before it is released.

The video shows Asus Eee PC 1005PE Unboxing that you will see the netbook accessories, user manual and supported applications in the box. The appearances of Asus Eee PC 1005PE are same as Asus Eee PC 1005HA-P but we found one thing difference is the keyboard style to change to chiclet style.

Asus plans to use Intel Atom Pine Trail Precessor for the new 10-inch netbook series, Asus Eee PC 1005PE. This change is a next generaton of netbook technology. Why?

Atom Pine Trail (or Pineview) Processor is an integrated version of Atom that puts the memory controller and GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) on the same die as the CPU. This move will shrink the number of chips in the Atom platform from three (CPU, chipset and I/O) to two (remained CPU and I/O).

The processors are built on the 45nm high-k metal gate manufacturing process and are enable four-layer PCB routing. So the new architecture will come with slimmer design, smaller package area, etc.
